Rebranded the ProTablet and distributed to all of Futura’s customers as part of the standard converting equipment package, this durable 10” mobile computer from Xplore now serves as the all-in-one data and field-task system for work conducted on Futura-equipped paper production lines.
“The ProTablet basically provides an intuitive, step-by-step guide for maintaining Futura’s line equipment. It also provides a direct, on-site connection to the warehousing and records systems that support maintenance tasks, allowing for a more automated workflow,” added Bruno Bothier, sales director for the South Europe region, Xplore.
“Before upgrading to the Entersoft ERP and then mobilizing that entire information system using Xplore rugged tablets, we were not able to input or retrieve any production or warehouse workflow data into any business system unless we were physically in an office environment and logged into a desktop computer. There was an immediate return on our investment in Xplore’s rugged tablet mobility solution.”

Westruss Manufacturing Pty Ltd, based in Orange (NSW) Australia, is a roof truss and building frame manufacturer who embarked on a plan to move to a totally paperless factory. Westruss chose the Xplore iX104C2D rugged Tablet PC as the hardware platform for deployment in their dirty and challenging production environment.
“We looked at various other rugged and conventional Tablet PCs but could not go past the Xplore because of its durability, toughness, tolerance to temperature extremes, ability to withstand water immersion and our extremely dusty environment”
Buckshaw Village Surgery offers a comprehensive range of clinical services to patients in Chorley, Lancashire. It is located in the vicinity of the Award-winning Buckshaw Retirement Village and offers its patients access to appointments, prescriptions and care records online.
After consulting with Dakota Healthcare on available, field-proven technology options, Buckshaw Surgery Center designed a mobile working solution based on the Motion C5 by Xplore Rugged Tablet PC. The C5 currently runs a full EMIS Web client and has Electronic Prescribing enabled. It is also linked with the INR Star decision-making software, alongside a mobile diagnostic tool for measuring INR results. Healthcare Assistants can now visit patients at home, carrying a mobile diagnostic device and a Motion C5 by Xplore Tablet PC running INR Star and EMIS Web. The simple thumb prick is taken at the patient’s home, and can be analysed in real time, with the result providing an instant dosing schedule for the patients yellow Poundland, Kilburn, London, United Kingdom booklet, and an update for the clinical record.
Merck scientists concluded that Motion’s mobile technology provided a full range of new and improved capabilities, which maximized their ELN investment and improved the scientists’ productivity.
“The integration of the C5 with the electronic notebook was a successful proof-of-concept. Scientists had more time to focus on value added work in labs and data integrity and document sensitivity compliance increased. Records become 100% electronic – promoting full ELN adoption.”
