Hospital Recognized with 4th Annual Motion Mobile Point of Care Award – North America
AUSTIN TX, March 4, 2013 – Motion Computing®, a global provider of mobile technology solutions customized to business workflows, today honored Barnabas Health with the 4th Annual Excellence in Mobile Point of Care Award – North America at the 2013 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition. Barnabas Health is enabling the highest quality of patient care and health education by delivering dependable network connectivity through Motion® wireless network design solutions. Barnabas Health is New Jersey’s largest integrated healthcare delivery system, providing treatment and services for more than two million patients each year at ten facilities across the state. The system delivers nationally renowned services including New Jersey’s only certified burn treatment facility, the most experienced heart transplant program in New Jersey and two kidney transplant centers ranked among the top ten in the United States.
To deliver the highest quality patient care, the Barnabas Health team wanted to provide its staff with the highest quality of mobile technology solutions. Consistent access to patient, hospital and medical information was a necessity. Barnabas Health worked with Motion to deploy a wireless network solution to meet their demanding clinical and patient needs. The solution is based on the Motion® Clinical Design Methodology that includes a high density RF footprint for the hospital - capable of supporting the next generation Cisco CleanAir technology.
“Mobile work is an integral part of healthcare delivery,” said Angelo Schittone, System VP, Technology Resources Division at Barnabas Health. “For the most effective mobile point of care, a secure and consistent wireless connection capable of supporting a variety of highly mobile workflows is as important as mobile device selection. Motion’s in-depth technical and healthcare industry expertise helped us deliver the right solution for our environment.”
Motion has created a four phase approach to wireless network design that includes the building, end user, wireless devices and the network. All areas are considered both in their component parts and as a whole before any design is completed. This methodology is proprietary to Motion and is highly effective. This network allows Barnabas Health to provide the highest level of patient care for its customers and patients by providing rapid and precise information delivery to the clinicians and doctors.
Motion is exhibiting in booth #5641 and demoing mobile technology solutions customized for healthcare workflows including Motion® Clinical Design Methodology, rugged tablet PCs and tailored accessories.
Using an in-booth theatre, Motion & partners will demonstrate holistic mobile solutions for the healthcare industry. The Barnabas Health project will be presented on Tuesday, March 5 at 12 noon.
