Xplore only asks for specific types of personal information

"Personal Information" means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, first and last name, home or other physical address, an email address, phone number, or other contact information, whether at work or at home. In a few areas on our website and online customer support tools, we ask you to provide Personal Information that will enable us to enhance your site visit, to assist you with technical support issues, respond to your request, communicate with you, improve our products or services, or to follow up with you after your visit. It is completely optional for you to participate.

For example, we request information from you when you:

  • Request information or a quote
  • Place an order

  • Participate in a sweepstakes or other promotional offer
  • Downloaded valued content like white papers or case studies
  • Subscribe to a newsletter or a mailing list

What Personal Information Does Xplore Gather?

The information we learn from customers helps us personalize and continually improve your experience with Xplore’s website. Some of the types of information we gather are listed below:

Information You Give Us: We receive and store any information you enter on our website or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features.

Automatic Information: We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use "cookies" (described further below), and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses our website, advertisements or other content served by or on behalf of Xplore on other websites.

Mobile: When you download or use apps that we or our subsidiaries or related companies create, we may receive information about your location and your mobile device, including a unique identifier for your device. We may use this information to provide you with location-based services, such as advertising, search results, and other personalized content. Most mobile devices allow you to turn off location services.

Email Communications: We often receive a confirmation when you open email from us, particularly if your computer supports such capabilities. We also compare our customer list to lists received from other companies, in an effort to avoid sending unnecessary messages to our customers. If you do not want to receive email or other mail from us, you can easily adjust your subscription settings or unsubscribe completely.

Information from Other Sources: We might receive information about you from other sources and add it to our account information, such as for online advertising campaigns or syndicated content channels.

Examples of Information Collected:

Information You Give Us
You provide most such information when you search, buy, post, participate in a contest or questionnaire, or communicate with customer service. For example, you provide information when you search for a product; place an order through Xplore or one of our third-party sellers; provide information in your account (you may have more than one if you have used more than one email address when shopping with us); communicate with us by phone, email, or by other means; complete a questionnaire or a contest entry form; use our services; participate in discussion boards or other community features; or provide and rate review. As a result of those actions, you might supply us with such information as your name, address, and phone numbers; credit card information; people to whom purchases have been shipped, including addresses and phone number; people (with addresses and phone numbers) listed; email addresses of your friends and other people; content of reviews and emails to us; personal description and photograph; and financial information, including Social Security and driver's license numbers.

Automatic Information
Examples of the information we collect and analyze include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; email address; password; computer and connection information such as browser type, version, and time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system, and platform; purchase history, which we sometimes aggregate with similar information from other customers; the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream to, through, and from our website, including date and time; cookie number; products you viewed or searched for; and the phone number you used to call our 800 number. We may also use browser data such as cookies, Flash cookies (also known as Flash Local Shared Objects), or similar data on certain parts of our website for fraud prevention and other purposes. During some visits we may use software tools such as JavaScript to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page. We may also collect technical information to help us identify your device for fraud prevention and diagnostic purposes.

Most mobile devices provide users with the ability to disable location services, which is generally located in the device's “settings” menu. If you have questions about how to disable your device's location services, we recommend you contact your mobile service carrier or your device manufacturer.

Information from Other Sources
Examples of information we receive from other sources include updated delivery and address information from our carriers or other third parties, which we use to correct our records and deliver your next purchase or communication more easily; account information, purchase or redemption information, and page-view information from some merchants with which we operate co-branded businesses or for which we provide technical, fulfillment, advertising, or other services; search term and search result information from some searches conducted through the Web search features; search results and links, including paid listings (such as Sponsored Links); and credit history information from credit bureaus, which we use to help prevent and detect fraud and to offer certain credit or financial services to some customers.

Co-branded and Joint Offerings
Examples of businesses with which we offer joint or co-branded products and other offerings include co-branded email or collateral communications featuring promotional events or product information.

Information You Can Access

Examples of information you can access easily at Xplore include up-to-date information regarding recent orders; personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications and personalized advertising preferences); payment settings (including credit card information); email notification settings; recommendations; shopping lists; seller accounts; and your profile.

"Do Not Track" Settings

Some web browsers have settings that enable you to request that our website does not track your movement within our website. Our website does not obey such settings when transmitted to and detected by our website.

Use of Cookies

Cookies are unique identifiers that we transfer to your device to enable our systems to recognize your device and to provide features offered on our website, personalized advertisements on other websites, storage of items in your shopping cart between visits, and/or transferred to third parties for marketing purposes, including online behavioral advertising purposes.

Please be aware that third party vendors, such as Google, use cookies to serve ads on our website. For example, Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to users based on their visit to the website and other sites on the Internet. See, for example, the following link for more information:

Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy at the following link: In addition, some users based on geographic boundaries will be required to “opt in” to enable the use of cookies in order to have a better website experience.

By using cookies, vendors such as Google also offer various analytics advertising features that are based on display advertising (for example, remarketing, Google display network impression reporting, the DoubleClick campaign manager integration, or Google analytics demographics and interest reporting).Visitors can opt-out of such analytics advertising features through the following (or similar) links:

In addition, the “help” feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. You can usually disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on's settings or visiting the website of its manufacturer. Because cookies allow you to take advantage of some of Xplore's essential features, we recommend that you leave them turned on. For instance, if you block or otherwise reject our cookies, you will not be able to add items to your cart, checkout, or use Xplore products and services that require you to sign in.

Does Xplore Share the Information It Receives?

Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share customer information only as described below and with subsidiaries that Xplore controls that are either subject to this Privacy Policy or that follow practices at least as protective as those described in this Privacy Policy.

Affiliated Businesses We Do Not Control: We work closely with affiliated businesses. In some cases, such as marketplace sellers, value-added resellers, distributors and OEM partners, these businesses operate stores or sell Xplore products. Some of our partners may also offer co-branded and/or joint offerings. If a third party is involved in your transactions, we share customer information related to those transactions with that third party.

Third-Party Service Providers: We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and email, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, providing search results and links (including paid listings and links), processing credit card payments, providing customer service, and distributors following up on prospective customer leads. These third party providers have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but they may not use it for other purposes.

Promotional Offers: Sometimes we send offers to selected groups of Xplore customers on behalf of other businesses. When we do this, we do not give that business your name and address. That said, Xplore complies with the federal CAN-SPAM Act, so if you do not want to receive such offers, please adjust your customer communication preferences or contact Xplore as indicated below.

Business Transfers: As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy (unless, of course, the customer consents otherwise). Also, in the unlikely event that Xplore or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will be one of the transferred assets. Personal Information collected on this website may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Xplore or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using this website, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.

Protection of Xplore and Others: We release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Xplore, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. This does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Policy.

With Your Consent: Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.

How Secure Is Your Information?

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.

We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.

It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

Third-Party Advertisers and Links to Other Websites

Our website includes third-party advertising and links to other websites. For more information about third-party advertising at Xplore, including personalized or interest-based ads, please read our terms of use and/or ad policy. Please be aware that other websites that may be accessed through our website may collect personally identifiable information about you. The information practices of those third-party web sites linked to our website are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

What Information Can I Access?

Xplore gives you access to a broad range of information about your account and your interactions with Xplore including purchasing, support and communication subscription information, for the limited purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information

What Choices Do I Have?

As discussed above, you can decide not to provide information, although it might be needed to make a purchase or to take advantage of some features of the Xplore website.

You can add or update certain information on pages referenced in the section above. When you update information, we usually keep a copy of the prior version for our records.

If you do not want to receive email or other mail from us, please adjust your customer communication preferences with the links provided in the email communications. If you do not want to receive our terms of use or other legal notices from us, such as this Privacy Policy, those notices will still govern your use of Xplore, and it is your responsibility to review them for changes.

If you do not want us to use personal information that we gather to allow third parties to personalize advertisements we display to you, please adjust your advertising preferences as described above.

The Help feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Additionally, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on's settings or visiting the website of its manufacturer. Because cookies allow you to take advantage of some of Xplore's essential features, we recommend that you leave them turned on. For instance, if you block or otherwise reject our cookies, you will not be able to add items to your shopping cart, proceed to checkout, or use any Xplore products and services that require you to sign in.

Access and Control of Personal Information

In addition to the choices outlined above, you may also access and review your personal information by contacting Xplore as described at the bottom of this policy. We make every effort to ensure that personal information is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Update or otherwise correct inaccurate data in that record;

If you would like to take any of the above listed actions, or have other questions related to your stored personal data, then please contact Xplore at the address given at the end of this policy.

In some services offered by this website, contact with the customer is an intrinsic part of the service. You will not be able to choose to unsubscribe to these mailings, as they are considered an essential part of the service(s) you have chosen.

Lawful Bases for Processing

We will only process your personal data if we have a lawful basis for doing so. Lawful bases for processing may include contractual necessity, our “legitimate interests,” as further described below, and consent.

When we process personal data based on your consent, it will be expressly indicated to you at the point and time of collection. If you provide us with opt-in consent to receive marketing information from Xplore, we will process your email address for the purpose of sending you marketing information about our products and services. The legal ground for processing your email address for this purpose is your consent. You may withdraw your consent any time by selecting “unsubscribe” in the marketing email or email us at

We are under no obligation to store such information indefinitely, and we disclaim any liability arising out of, or related to, the destruction of that information.
