Innovators in the Rugged Tablet Industry Executives
Phil Sassower serves as chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman of Xplore. Since 2006, Sassower has shaped the basic policy of Xplore in pursuit of sustainable growth and profitability. He spearheaded the company’s recent recapitalization, up-listing to NASDAQ and $10 million public offering through Aegis Capital, and has been active in building a wider and more solid interest in our story from the investment community.
Sassower has more than 40 years of business and investment experience in successfully restructuring publicly-traded companies. By implementing new business strategies, he works with management teams and boards of directors to acquire, invest in, and build successful companies.
Sassower is CEO of Phoenix Group, a New York based private equity firm, chairman and CEO of Communication Intelligence Corporation (OTCQB: CICI), a leading provider of electronic signature solutions, and is managing member of Phoenix Venture Fund, Xplore largest shareholder. He also served as chairman and CEO of Newpark Resources, an oil and gas services company focused on environmental remediation, and Bates Manufacturing Company, an owner of extensive coal deposits.
Sassower graduated from Queens College in New York with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and cum laude from Harvard Law School's Juris Doctor program.
Mark Holleran serves as president and chief operating officer (COO) of Xplore Technologies. Since 2006, Holleran has managed the day-to-day operations of Xplore, including marketing, operations, engineering, and financials. Prior to becoming president and COO, Holleran served as Xplore’s vice president of sales from April 2003 to February 2006.
Holleran brings more than 30 years of leadership and computing experience to Xplore. Prior to joining the company, he served asCEO of WaveSat Wireless, and was the country manager for Cabletron Systems, a former manufacturer of networking computer equipment.
Holleran studied at the University of Toronto’s Executive Business Program and holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree.
As CMO of Xplore Technologies, Peter Poulin is responsible for strategic planning, business development, product marketing, brand building, channel development and demand generation. Previously, Peter spent three years serving as Motion’s CEO and prior to that, Motion's Vice President of Marketing.
With more than 25 years of sales, marketing and general management experience, Poulin has served in leadership roles across a broad range of startup and well-established organizations. Knowledgeable across all channels of distribution, and with diverse experience across hardware, software, and services businesses, Poulin has led teams through phases of rapid growth and transformational change.Prior experiences include executive roles a Compaq Computer Corporation, American Power Conversion (APC), Hoover’s, and several software/hardware startups.
Poulin earned a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Cornell University.
In his role as Vice President of Global Operations, Mike Zimmerman will optimize business operations for Xplore to meet customer and employee needs, and streamline Xplore’s tablet production to deliver the most advanced and rugged tablets possible. Zimmerman previously provided strategic direction and spearheaded operational efficiency initiatives for major technology companies including Getac, Gateway, Inc., Compaq Computers, Best Buy and Motorola.
As Vice President of Sales, Randy Denny will lead Xplore’s North American sales team, expand its business into new markets and oversee ongoing opportunities. He brings over 25 years of experience in the computing industry to Xplore Technologies, as well as a wealth of rugged experience from his work with Getac and General Dynamics Itronix where he spent 12 years building and leading a world-class sales organization. While with Itronix, Randy consistently exceeded growth objectives in his markets, helping to position the company for a 2005 acquisition by General Dynamics.
Pete Lewis is Vice President of International Sales at Xplore.
Previously, Pete Lewis was Vice President of worldwide Sales at Motion Computing. Lewis joined Motion from Walkabout Computers where he was responsible for International sales outside the USA. Before joining Walkabout, Lewis was responsible for International sales at Fujitsu Personal Systems Inc, (a manufacturer of mobile tablet computers) where he oversaw expansion into Canada, LATAM and APAC. Prior to Fujitsu, he was Director of Marketing for Tandem Computers of Canada. At Motion, he has been responsible for building the global presence in over 40 countries.
Bryan Bell serves as vice president of engineering for Xplore Technologies. In this role, he leads the roadmap strategy and product development for the company—marrying business objectives to product development—while keeping Xplore’s tablets cost-effective. He also closely manages supplier relationships to provide customers with the most advanced systems available and keeps Xplore products as the leading rugged devices for all industries. Bell has served as vice president of engineering since 2008.
Prior to joining Xplore, Bell served as vice president of operations at Sirific Wireless, a developer of 3.5G multi-mode, multi-band mobile cellular and broadband data products, and as vice president and general manager at Acer Advanced Labs, Acer Inc. Bell also previously held the position of notebook product line manager, as well as other leadership positions during a 16 year career at Texas Instruments.Bell graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in engineering management, and also holds a master’s in business from Amberton University.
